About Me

About Me

I'm Robert A. Aslin, a fire protection and safety engineering student at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK.

I was born and grew up in San Antonio, TX, and got into fire protection around eighth grade while getting over my childhood fear of fire drills. I spent a summer in 2016 helping to install fire sprinkler systems, giving me some practical knowledge in the suppression field, and spent two summers in Omaha, Nebraska as a fire sprinkler design intern from May to August of 2019, and as a fire alarm design intern from June to August of 2020. I plan to get NICET and eventually CFPS certification, along with my FPSET degree.

I currently hold four OSHA certificates: OSHA 7500 Intro to Safety Health and Management, OSHA 7505 Intro to Accident Investigation, OSHA 7845 Recordkeeping Rule Seminar, and OSHA 521 OSHA Guide to Industrial Hygiene, as well as an AS in Arts and Sciences, General Studies from Northern Oklahoma College.

In my free time, I am also a musician, playing the trumpet, flugelhorn, and guitar, among others. You can find my music YouTube channel here.  I am also an amateur radio operator, with the callsign KF1PST.
